Superintendent Peter Dyce from the RFS said that the fire has destoryed more than 800 hectares of property.
“The fire is virtually under control, however there is one area that is still quite dicey. We will be doing the mopping up and patrolling until the fire has stopped,” Mr Dyce said.
“We are expecting to be there all today, tonight and perhaps for the next couple of days.”
Mr Dyce said that the weather will play a big part, with 30 knot winds expected today.
“There are no reports of structural loss, there may be some damages to fencing and it is too early to report on stock loss.”
Sawyers Gully road and Mountain Creek road are closed to general public.
The Yass Valley Council will be attending the area this morning to do an assessment on the roads.
