Hastings members win Grafton ribbons

FIVE girls from St Joseph’s Regional College attended the recent Clarence Valley Equestrian Challenge at Hawthorne Park, South Grafton, riding for the weekend as Team Hastings.

The girls and their horses looked amazing, all done up ready to ride on the Saturday morning, team organisers said. There was a lot of competition up there, with big classes and the girls rode really well in their events.

Lauren Jones riding Tarlington Topdeck in the 12 year old classes and yellow ring came 2nd galloway hack, 3rd riding class, 1st keyhole and 5th barrels.

Brittany Coates riding Flame in the 14 year old classes and yellow ring came 1st galloway hack and 2nd pair of riders. Mikaela McKinnon riding Sam in the 14 year old classes and yellow ring came 1st senior prelim 1.1 dressage, 3rd galloway hack, 5th riding class, 2nd pair of riders, 5th pleasure galloway hack and 4th keyhole.

Lydia Carney riding Crystal in the 15 year old classes and white ring came 2nd pleasure galloway hack, 5th galloway hack, 4th bonfield bounce, 4th bending, 5th keyhole and 5th senior prelim 1.2 dressage

Michelle Ingram riding Colt did extremely well in the 16 year old classes and white ring with 2nd riding class, 2nd pleasure galloway hack, 3rd galloway hack, 1st barrels, 1st bending, 3rd keyhole, 3rd flags and 6th showjumping.

Lauren, Lydia and Michelle went well in the team penning together, getting two cows in the pen.
