THE long wait is finally over for students throughout Port Macquarie after HSC results were released on Wednesday.
It all started at 6amif students had a text message service set up.
Port Macquarie High School principalLorraine Haddon said she was very pleased with the early results.
Vice-captain Chantelle Cooper was the best-performed student with four band sixes and three band fives.
“We had four students in the distinguished achievers listand 70 of our 80 students achieved band five or six,” she said.
“We’re really happy with the results.”
St Columba head of secondary school, Allan Guihot, said his students had performed terrifically well.
“We had two students in what they call the all-rounders list where they achieved band sixes in more than 10 units,” he said.
“Those students were Olivia Peck, Casuarina O’Brien and Melwin Nelapati who was in the top 10 per centin Chemistry in the state.”
Westport High School principal Ian Gowan said while he hadn’t had a chance to sit down and assess exact results, generally they were pleasing.
“This group of students have worked extremely hard over the last two years and they can be proud of their efforts,” he said.
“We had great results in TAS and Senior Science subjects, but everyone is waiting for their ATAR results on Thursday.”
Westport High School principalDavid Jenkins said they had been well represented in positive results.
“We had 65 of our kids who fell into the band five or six category,” he said.
