New estate entrance: Residents gathered for the official opening of The Hermitage Way, which connects on to Camden Valley Way at Gledswood Hills. One of Camden’s newest estates, Sekisui House’s The Hermitage, is now officially connected to the main thoroughfare Camden Valley Way.
The estate’s new entrance, The Hermitage Way, has been officially with the help of some Gledswood Hills’ residents.
Sekisui House project director Craig D’Costa said The Hermitage Way was finished 18 months ahead of schedule with the help of Camden Council and Roads and Maritime Services.
‘‘The operation of this new intersection is a much anticipated piece of infrastructure for the local and wider community since the launch of The Hermitage back in 2012, particularly given the unprecedented rate of residential sales and housing occupations,’’ he said.
‘‘The completion of The Hermitage Way includes a four-way signalised intersection also encompassing Springfield Road and Camden Valley Way. The new intersection will dramatically improve vehicle movements, enabling direct travel north, south, east and west from the estate.’’
Mr D’Costa said the new intersection would become a key feature of Gledswood Hills and the entrance would be landscaped.
‘‘The Hermitage and surrounding community are currently undergoing dramatic infrastructure changes,’’ he said.
‘‘All of these infrastructure upgrades will positively impact the short and long term access and egress from The Hermitage.
‘‘We are committed to delivering on our overall vision of building a residential community that continues to evolve and grow, while keeping with its current high aesthetic standards.’’
